Parabellum

This is a band I discovered somewhat recently that barely anyone seems to know about, which is sad. Parabellum is from Colombia and the first extreme metal band from that region. They play some of the ugliest noisy music heard. Stuff that even a good deal of extreme fans can't seem to stand. What makes them so impressive is that they wrote their material in 1994 even though it wasn't released until a few years later. This makes them the most extreme band for quite a while in the 80's. Even today they are still one of the most extreme sounding bands heard I'd wager to say. They would seem to have some punk influence on some songs, which isn't that surprising since black metal has always borrowed much from punk, but they have more of a punk sound than most early black metal bands. I dig it.

I definitely recommend their compilation for everyone's collection. Probably the most extreme stuff from the 80's. Brutal as fuck. The singer has unreal vocals.

F'sure. One of the most extreme sounding bands ever (and not in a bad way).
