Godsmack

I didn't know whether to put godsmack in metal or rock. Awesome band. favorite songs are awake and i F*****g hate you and no rest for the wicked.

Ahhh Godsmack. Such a great, wonderful, talented band. They're certainly better than Tool and TST...

Actually tbh, I liked their first 2 records and that's it. They've fallen deeper and deeper into a hole that is very dark and ugly. And they'll never get out of it!

Their first CD was alright, and their acoustic CD was even better, but otherwise, rather plain.

Amazing band, one of my favourites. I saw them live in 2003, they were better than the main act, but then i dont like the main act haha

I don't much care for Metallica, ...And Justice For All is awesome, Master of Puppets and the black album are terribly overrated but still pretty good, and Death Magnetic was a good change of pace from the shit they've been making for the past decade or so, but other than that I don't really care for em

Ride the Lightning, you didn't mention that album. was better than the black album.

This almost mirrors Phil's opinions on them. And...wasn't it you that absolutely raved about Death Magnetic when it first came out? And how Metallica was one of your favorite bands?

Considering I only listened to about 7 bands at that time, yes, yes it was, since at the time I didn't listen very closely to music, just merely accepted whatever I found since I barely knew anything

As I wouldn't be caught dead listening to Godsmack now, I must admit when my musical tastes were limited to radio play and what little money I could scrape together to spend at the big retail stores, Godsmack was a band I listened to quite frequently. Right along side the other radio rockers like System of a Down and Mudvayne

Funny, those are similar to my taste when I was a radio rocker. 'Cept I never caught wind of Mudvayne.

I don't mind godsmack, even today, as a semi-militant metal head. Sully is a solid vocalist.

I still enjoy SOAD quite a bit, since I love Serj's vocal style, and the rather different style of the band from the majority of other mainstream stuff.

I like Godsmack. Yeah, maybe they're mainstream radio-friendly, but why does that always have to be a bad thing? Sully has a great voice, many of the songs have great melodies that get stuck in my head constantly and I enjoy listening to them. How can that ever be a bad thing?
