I play guitar, as do many people.

My gear:

Ibanez XPT700 (aka Xiphos)
BC Rich Warlock
Gibson SG
Epiphone bass (don't know which model)

I also have a tiny Crate amplifier and 3 effect pedals.

I just have an Ibanez starter kit, but it's doing me just fine for learning on.

I'm still learning, really should practice a lot more than I do, I have a Dean Razorback electric and a Takamine Acoustic/Electric.

I use a Ibanez RG120 guitar. I used to also use an Epiphone Les Paul which was really nice but kinda died in my hands from me playing it so much. I recommend people check out the RG120 for great justice, I want a Gibson SG. I use whatever Bass I can borrow from someone really, but I really want this Geddy Lee signature Jazz Bass, the string tension on it was fucking amazing, played one show with it and I creamed my panties. I also use D'addario strings.

I used something like that at a show once but it had no pickguard, it was just a flat surface. It had a really nice sound, with the amp I was using from this other band that was playing I was able to recreate the old Celtic Frost sound like on Morbid Tales.

Guitar Elitists are just as gay as two homos shoving cucumbers up eachother's assholes. I think if you enjoy the feel of the guitar and like the guitar body you're fine. People who are Elitists about guitars are the dumbest people ever. I don't get it. And if anyone bitches just be like "You know all those thrash metal and speed metal acts were influenced partly by Hardcore punk right? Shut your fucking mouth" and then smack them with a pipe.
