| Really good Tech Death band, relativley new and somewhat mainstream. They has 2 albums, Akeldama and Planetary Duality, and are a tad similar to Obscura (probably why I like em as I do). They're too often accused of being Deathcore by the Metal community because they use breakdowns in their first album and because they tend to get the most hype from Deathcore fans, but they're mostly just Tech Death, rather good Tech Death at that, I recommend them.

| Used to like them alright, but have since quit listening. Decent band, though, from what I remember but nothing I'd get too excited about personally. | |

| Yeah, Ham likes Origin, he made that fairly clear in ze Origin thread, so chances are he will like The Faceless, as they are essentially a lighter, slightly less technical and a bit progressive version of Origin.....though thinking about it I'd say I prefer Planetary Duality to most all of Origin's music except Antithesis...
So yeah, Hammy will more than likely enjoy this band

[/referrence to Origin thread] You forget that I already like good music. Polkadot Cadaver got me into Avant-Garde shortly after joining this forum.

I see this being mocked shortly due to its phrasing.

| tis a matter of preference whether someone likes Origin and The Faceless over Polkadot Cadaver and Dog Fashion Disco. For me, it depends on the mood I'm in. Right now I think I'm in a PC mood, changing songs... | |

| The Faceless and Origin beat PC and DFD in almost every aspect, the only thing the latter have over them is that they're more fun.
Not bashing PC and DFD, but you really can't compare them to The Faceless and Origin

| No, PC beat them in originality and actually have quite an intricate composition. Just because something is faster does not mean it's necessarily more complex. Most classical still pwns all 4 bands and almost all of modern music compositionally. | |

| Well yes, for originallity as well, and I never said that PC and DFD don't have any complexity, but Origin's compositions are essentially modernized Classical pieces | |

Have you seen a classical piece written out in all of its parts? Compositionally (unless Origin has a full orchestra I don't know about), a piece such as Vivaldi's Four Seasons or Stravinsky's Firebird pwns the shit out of anything Origin has ever thought about writing. And Mozart's Requiem, jesus. Just try writing something like that.

| Death Metal is a whole different type of music than classical, and it's "point" is different.
Yes, classical symphonies are harder to compose, but does that mean they are better?
nope. | |

Exactly. Did you not see that the only thing I discussed was composition?
