| Despite the long-winded title, this is a relatively simple question. What bands/artists do you still like that you have liked for the longest. Give a list if you'd like or however. Also, which bands in your top 10 have been in there for the longest?
Longest of Bands that I still like:
Vivaldi: ~18 years Jars of Clay: 14-15 years Metallica: ~12 years ~1998-2000 to present: too many to name, but including SOAD, Incubus, RATM, QotSA, etc.
Longest Running in Top 10:
Protest the Hero: 3-4 yrs Tool: ~1+ yr DFD: 10 months?

| Hell, I dunno, I've only really cared about music for a little over a year, so in context that's a long time | |

| Skillet has been my longest running band EVER since I started listening to them at about 3 or 4 years old... long before they were mainstream. Petra is tied for Skillet for longest running band that I know of. Protest the Hero and Disturbed are the next two for longest running in top 10. | |

| @ Knight. Apparently it's right about 9-10 months as I was just checking through DMB threads. About midway through January.
@ Hammy. Wow, you are really freaking young. I've been listening to skillet for as long, but i was in jr high....

So yeah, easily my longest running that I'm still interested in...they actually sparked my love of technical music, which is primarily what I listen to now (along with Funeral Doom), so it makes sense, really

| No wait, here's your top 10 from January 30, 2009: - Quote :
10. The Syncope Threshold So I must have been mistaken on the dates, but it had to be somewhat close after as TST is 10th.

That can't be right, I thought you told me that you had started listening to Skillet after Invincible, which was their first mainstream album...

| Started listening to them before on a sampler that had a Best Kept Secret I believe. I thought the CD before was their first and thus the time frame would be less than a year or two, but didn't realize they had another. | |

| I don't think I could ever just stick with one genre, even one as diverse as metal. I like variety way too much. | |
