One of my favorite Doom bands, Evoken are Funeral Doom with a blend of Doom/Death. Their music moves a bit faster than most Funeral Doom while still keeping the slow epic feel of the genre. Just all around an excellent band, I recommend them.

Samples from each album:

Into the Autumn Shade (from Shades of Night Descending)

Tragedy Eternal (from Embrace the Emptiness)

In Pestilence, Burning (from Quietus)

Quietus is clearly the best album by this band. Mostly because it was the album that finally made Funeral Doom awesome.

Nah, the debut is my favorite. They have yet to release a bad album, though.

The first one is good too, but Quietus seems darker and more funeral doomy. The debut is more of a death doom album.

Yeah the first one is pretty speedy for Doom.

Esoteric is way better than anything Evoken has ever accomplished, though. I'll make a thread...

Esoteric is pretty great too. Their funeral doom stuff is their best.

To be honest, I like all of their releases about the same, save their latest which, while still awesome, wasn't quite as good. If I had to pick a favorite it would probably be Embrace the Emptiness.
