Enemies of Reality is the only song by them I've heard. Its not bad, and its on my Ipod, but I haven't heard anything else.

Really loving This Godless Endeavor. I think I may have to check out the rest of their discography.

I'd start with the song Born, but I haven't really checked out any other of their CDs yet but this one. Here's a link nevertheless. Idk what you look for in bands so it may not be the best place to start you, but check it out, why not?

The whole CD is quite good, though I feel that Born is one of the better tracks and a great intro track. Here's another I enjoy:

I can't wait for "The Obsidian Conspiracy." From the sounds of this article, it's going to be quite a new experience, in a good way I hope. Due early 2010.

I don't give a shit about the 'kvlt'ness of something. It is more the fact that prog has a habit of making 15+ minute songs that bore the fuck out of me in most cases. Prog could be wonderful, it has all the elements of something great and entertaining the whole way through, but it fails, somehow. I will admit, I can listen to some Opeth and some Meshuggah, but that is my entire prog taste. I don't even like Dream Theater. Hard and Heavy > Slow and Melodic.

You are completely wrong.

Slow and Melodic can be waaay better than "Hard and Heavy."

Prog is for people with attention spans more than that of a 2 year-old. Obviously you don't quialify.

Opeth and Messhuggah are barely even prog.

I disagree entirely. Prog is for people with a lot of time on their hands. Which, unless it is after midnight or on a day I don't work. I don't have. Like I said, prog could be good. I like the idea of changing it up mid song to keep the song fresh, and you kinda have to do it if your songs are going to be 15+ minutes long. But I don't like the style of most prog bands.

I don't really see how this at all applies to Nevermore. The longest song on their most progressive album (This Godless Endeavor) is not even 9 minutes long and most of the songs are 4-5 minutes which is pretty average for any song. In fact only one is over 7 minutes from the album. It's cool that it's not your thing, but this doesn't really seem to apply to the current topic, though is sometimes the case for prog in general.

I've got everything from Nevermore. I've probably listen to This Godless Endeavor 1000 times and it still doesn't get old. They are a masterpiece of a band and I can not wait until they release a new album, just because they make life worth living.

Nevermore's upcoming Obsidian Conspiracy should be brilliant Very Happy I hope it's somewhat in the vein of TGE, as it's one of my faves.

Dreaming Neon Black is a close second, though, I'd say. Along with their self-titled in third somewhat farther back.
