Been listening to a lot of this recently. Not exceptionally black metal. This is the band that got me into the lighter side of metal. First album is raw black metal, but after that they start to progress towards a mid-Enslaved viking metal sound.

Svartskogs Gilde - Borknagar (No English Lyrics on the entire album.)

A Tale of Pagan Tongue - The Olden Domain

Oceans Rise - The Archaic Course

The Presence Is Ominous - Quintessence

The Genuine Pulse - Empiricism

Sealed Chambers of Electricity - Epic

Earth Imagery - Origin

Clever clogs will notice that none of Borknagar's albums have been omitted. This is because although not the best band ever, Borknagar has never made a Risk, a The Cult is Alive, an At the Heart of Winter, or a Chimera. GOD DAMNIT THIS BAND IS CONSISTENTLY GOOD AND OCCASSIONALLY GREAT, LISTEN TO THEM!

I really like the first album, The Archaic Course, and Quintessence. Borknagar is really under-rated. Especially their early stuff. Not as big on their last album.
