The song is about an actual event in David's life, I forget how old he was when it happened, but his girlfriend killed herself, the song is about his own thoughts of suicide to be with her again, which is no more Satanic than my neighbor's Beagle

I don't think Disturbed is pure Satanist.....maybe Athiest.

Christian Metalheads and Demon Hunter ftw! Demon Hunter is one of the few bands that I like that growl/scream. It's also white death metal.

I haven't listened to Demon Hunter in a while......I need to.

My first post on this forum, compelled by the silliness of the point.

Haimerej, I'm all for Christian metalheads. I get very frustrated by Christians who think that ALL metal is Satanic just because it is metal and pay no attention to lyrical content.

That being said, I get just as frustrated by people who speak an opinion without doing any research whatsoever to back it up. Disturbed is anything but Satanic. David has said many times in interviews that he believes in God. He has also said that he doesn't believe that either Hell or Satan actually exist. The words to Inside the Fire represent a mental state that can take over a person when they grieve, crazy thoughts that taunt them.

Please do yourself a huge favor and read the official interpretations of the songs that David has provided his fans with and also spend a little time on YouTube watching video interviews with David. I've met the band several times and chatted with them. They are the nicest, friendliest guys you could ever imagine. Like Knight says, they're about as Satanic as a newborn kitten.

Sorry about that, as a Christian, I am a little paranoid about the lyrical content and look at them in a way that leads to me thinking some stuff is satanic when it's not. I apologize for not doing research, I didn't even know there WERE official interpretations.

Polkadot Cadaver's lyrics are much more sadistic, though But I wouldn't say they're satanic either, since none of the lyrics have much to do with satan or the occult, but merely murder and death haha

I'm a Christian, I listen to Brutal Death Metal and Black Metal, and many many other things, one of my favorite songs is titled "A Wolf In Jesus Skin" which has lyrical content like "Oh what a waste of time to believe you would ever come back to life, the resurrections were all faked..." and so on, religious fanatics like the Catholic Church would have you believe that a lot of music is against god or satanic, and it's all bullshit, religion does not in any way shape or form dictate what music you can and cannot enjoy, people who interpret it that way are a disgrace
