| It's technical, metal-influenced music, usually with dual guitars, but always with a focus on complexity | |

A good example of math-core is Protest the Hero A good example of math metal(because it's related) is Meshuggah

| Meshuggah's quite the polarizer hahaha. There's always plenty of people on both sides of the fence about whether they ZOMGRULEZ/suck donkey dick. I lean towards the latter, but that's just me | |

| Sorry, Knightfall, but Meshuggah > protest the hero
Kinda depends how you listen to it, though. PTH has generally more enjoyable music while Meshuggah has complex and precise music. Now that i think about it, PTH is actually more progressive than math-core, but whetever.

| No, they're both brilliant bands (and I admit that I probably should listen to Meshuggah more often), but there really is no comparison, Protest the Hero is just superior, both vocally and instrumentally, but they're both also very different styles, it's mostly preferrence | |

| hmmm, currently, I'd say:
Folk Metal, with AG metal trailing closely behind, and Symphonic and prog about tied behind that.
