Korpiklaani

No folk metal subforum would be complete without Korpiklaani, the awesome Fins who sing about nature and beer. Some of their stuff is really catchy and really funny, especially their drinking songs.

Pretty "meh" band IMO.

Ensiferum is much superior. Hence why I have an Ensiferum flag on my wall instead of a Korpiklaani one.

I saw the original Paganfest w/ Ensiferum, Turisas, Tyr, Eluveitie and Suidakra a few years ago. That was pretty awesome.


I'm half surprised that Per doesn't think Ensiferum is inferior or w/e. They don't talk about Vikings. They're all about the Sami people, which are basically Native Americans but native to parts of Finland, Norway, Sweden and Russia. They're not Germanic or anything, though.

I'm not that partial to them anymore, but Ensiferum is pretty okay. Much better than Korpiklaani.

That's what I was thinking

I decided I don't like feeling like shit, so I quit drinking and have been slowly getting off Oxycontin (completely switched to Tylenol 3, I'm rather proud of me) in favour of spending my booze money on dope and coke. A very good trade-off, in my opinion.

Hard drugs are fucking dumb.

I'll stick with purely psychedelics.

Yeah, don't get into any opiates. They really fuck your life up. Cocaine is fine as long as you can support your habit, it really sucks when you don't have it.

Psychedelics are fun until you try PCP, that shit shouldn't even exist.

I don't like getting addicted to things.

I quit smoking a couple of months ago and I'm really feeling the cravings for them. If cocaine is more addictive than that then I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have it.

Yeah, coke withdrawl is waaaay worse than nicotine withdrawl. It is fun stuff though. Don't try it unless you intend to keep doing it.

That seems stupid. Among many reasons not to do hard drugs like that is that I don't want to be dependent on something. So many things could go wrong w/ your life and feeling crappy not being able to get some shit in your bloodstream is one more thing to worry about.

However, I completely support marijuana, for many reasons, among them is that it is not addictive at all. Stopping any time really doesn't do anything. I enjoy once in a while and if I just stop and go without for a really long time it doesn't bother me in the least. I could care less.
