It used to be funk infused with what some people called "metal". As nu-metal progressed, it lost most of it's funk influences and whatever else made it good.

It has that...rap-ish quality usually. KoRn, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, P.O.D (Sometimes?), ect.

But people lump anything new with any hint of metal into it.

5FDP, as Jack has mentioned, fit much more into the Groove Metal catagory, but, I'm not going to go ahead and make a Groove Metal forum until someone can produce posts for more than just two bands of the genre

One annoying thing about groups who do that, have ya ever noticed that they like every band they consider to be Metal and hate every band they consider to be Nu-Metal or -core? NOT a coincidence

P.O.D. is rapcore, not nu-metal. rapcore was explained to me as a mixture of rap and industrial.

POD has reggae as well. I also don't think rapcore describes them well as they really don't have any punk/core elements, which really is the classification for core. Hard punk influence.

Rap-core and Nu-Metal are arguably the same thing, and any -core must include Hardcore Punk influences, which P.O.D. doesn't exactly seem to have

Ugh, for the second leg they BETTER come to NH or MA!!!! The closest one is CT, and I really don't feel like driving all the way down there when I got like 5 other venues all under an hour away from me in MA and NH.

If they come up to ME and I have the money I might try 'em out, but otherwise, meh....
