Family Musical Tastes

What kinds of music do your parents listen to? And any siblings?

My Dad listens to lots of classic rock, The Who, Rolling Stones, Dire Straits, etc. He doesnt like much metal at all.
My Mums used to listen to the above stuff until I successfully got her into symphonic and gothic metal. She doesnt like death and black though.
And my sister mainly listens to post-grunge, emo and J-pop. And Within Temptation. She also dislikes most metal.

As you can see Im the only one in my family with a good taste in music.

Now what about the rest of you?

Your sister is a waste of life.

My mom listens primarily to Dance music, some Rock (classic mostly and a little modern), she despises almost all Metal and refuses to listen to anything with growling and/or screaming
My step-dad listens to Classic Rock and Country, he also likes a bit of pop rap, he thinks Death and Black Metals sound satanic
My uncle and one of my cousins both listen to Country
My other cousin listens to Dance, Pop, hip hop, and Nu Metal
The rest that I know of their music tastes listen to radio pop and hip hop

Well, she was talking about our school's talent show that she and her friend are going to enter, she mentioned that she would be singing and her friend would be doing piano, I had over-heard this conversation as they sit in the same hallway as we (me, Jack, other friends) do, hearing music mentioned peeked my interest, so I asked what song they were doing, it was a Paramore song, I said "I bet it sucks" as I generally despise Paramore, before she could respond, Jack, being the troll he is, said "I bet you're gonna suck", she freaked out and started screaming at him "why would you say that?! You haven't even heard me sing!!!", your usual troll food-ish responses and then started crying, Jack and I then went on to discuss his successful trolling and rule 20.

What an over-reaction. Jack should get a medal.

They fucking hate the music I listen to, and have of recent found some of the more...profound... stuff I listen to.

My room mates parents take offense to my Marduk poster. Fuck Me Jesus, obviously. It was let slide once, but now whenever they visit the posters must go away. As with the flags. They don't even like my Ensiferum. They are the closest things to family that I have, so I guess that counts.

What the hell is wrong with an Ensiferum flag?

It has a viking on it, and my room mates dad is a pastor.

The only people with good taste in my family that I know of is my dad and my little brother, and sometimes my older sister.

Everyone else listens to mainstream garbage.

Dad listens to just about everything, he even likes some of my favorite metal bands (cept for the death metal ones). His favorite band is Pink Floyd

My brother listens to a variety of music. I mean a VARIETY. You'll find him listening to some oldies, rap, techno, 80's metal, folk, who knows what else. Unfortunately he doesn't like too much metal, and he likes some metalcore shit.

My older sister's taste are mainly good for her good taste in hororcore rap. Her fiance even has better taste in rap. I go to them when I need some suggestions for rap and hiphop artist.

How the hell did you end up with a pastors son as a room mate?

We clicked, he is a quiet guy, I'm loud and obnoxious. I consider him to be my heterosexual life mate. He is one of the ones that I turned from Christianity.
